Watch Cricket Highlights – Australia vs South Africa, 1st Johannesburg Test highlights, 3rd day, played on February 28, 2009.
Scoreline: SA 220 all out. A fantastic AB de Villiers hundred (104), Mitchell Johnson 4 wickets. Aus 51/1
Update: Watch Flintoff Talk About his IPL participation here
A day where referrals were the talking point after de Villiers stood out among the ruins. AB hardly found any support after Duminy was peppered with short stuff, though Dale Steyn did threaten to pull out a good lower order stand. I think the referral system was first used during the India Test tour of Sri Lanka – over there, the system had been a failure. It was seen that, with a bit of luck referrals could actually favour one side, considering off-field umpires are reluctant to veto onfield umpires especially when it comes to LBWs. Today Boucher got a rough one, de Villiers looked lucky and Graeme Smith missed out by not referring what would have been a Phil Hughes dismissal.
Hughes predictably got intense short stuff following his weird dismissal in the 1st innings, but it was quite enthralling to watch him with his crazy backlift whack 7 boundaries despite hopping and falling all over the place.
Aus didn’t enforce the follow-on – is this going to be one of the mad SA chases?

yes there wont be any responses as SA are down
come on SA u can do it!!!
