Watch highlights: Australia vs West Indies Day 3 of the 2nd Test at Adelaide played on December 6, 2009
Scoreline: Aus 439 all out Haddin 55, Clarke 71, Hussey 41 | Sulieman Benn 5 wickets
WI (2nd Inn) 23/0
Managed to catch uninterrupted live action only post-tea and having watched Sehwag a couple of days back, am glad I missed the Hussey-Clarke grind. Benn’s name hardly comes up when people usually discuss spinners from around the world, so a nice reminder from him here. Gayle and Barath walking out tomorrow and Day 4 is set to explode in our faces. Whether it’s a blank fired or the money shot is all that remains starting a few hours from now.
west indies all the way…. gayle’s sick mother will be happy
Well bowled Benn………..reminds me a little of Roger Harper with his action except left arm version and better bowler…..good to see…….
Think we will see many overs from Hauritz and North in 2nd innings…………
AbsholUM????? What a miserable small endowed man you are……off to Norway eh???? For a bloke that when he was born your father said to the doctor, “Take this shocker across the road to the nearest bar and tell the barman to put a decent head on it” you have some nerve.
You’re a joke…..you give other WI’s a bad name…..If I was your country, I would be embarrassed to let a half wit like you out of your own shores to visit another country….anytime you want to venture to the USA to pay me a visit I’ll show you how to behave like a real man you spineless little twerp!!! LOL…what a weak little turkey…..with an inverted member to boot!!!!
Hauritz will bowl a lot of overs but he will not get the same bounce as Benn thats the key to this game and Benn has it .
Excellent effort by the Windies to snuff all ten Aussies like that on what appeared to be a batsman’s wicket.
I like Roach putting them down the pitch at 150 kph. Brings back memories of the Roberts/Holding/Marshall days.
Watson shows remarkable consistency in his tendency to get out early YET AGAIN, despite serving up 96 the day before. Some Oz batsmen continue to look like chumps against spin. If there is a team weakness then I think that may be it. I mean, where’s the bloody footwork?
Great spells from Benn in pinning them down to force weak shots and take wickets. Dear Abby, I did NOT say Benn chucks, cheats, or does anything illegal. HOWEVER, his left elbow does do interesting things through the range of delivery (see @ 1:24 of vid #V). If it is straight for one millisecond at the time of release, then that is good enough for me.
And Abby, I will not insult you personally as others have decided to turn uncivil and do (which is always a shame when exchanges among individuals go down that path).
However, your general case that Aussies have a history of cheating in order to win is very poorly made. Ponting spits in his hands? So what? Exactly what is this EVIDENCE of? Ponting actually converses with the umpires? What does this PROVE? Bollinger believed he may have made a catch and this means he is a liar and cheat? You can read his mind? Perhaps you have played some cricket yourself. If so, you might concede that the trajectory of a ball hit hard right at you at ankle height can be difficult to judge. Yes?
I DO wish there was a West Indian commentator, though. But the Aussie yakkers have shown no bias that I heard, anyway, and have been complimentary and encouraging of the Windies’ effort.
Your absolute insistence on a systemic cheating mentality on the part of the Oz team without a shred of objectively verifiable proof of a single incident of it is naturally going to piss people off. The only conclusion I can draw is that you are both bitter and ineffably biased, meaning you see nefarious invisible machinations in play against your team. Emphasis on invisible. I believe you are severely deluded and therefore incapable of being objective, based on comment after comment you have made. Happy trails in Norway, by the way.
Blah, blah, enough of that.
Right now, the match is anyone’s. Great cricket. I can’t get enough.
Finally, hats off again to Admin who puts forth an enormous effort in dishing up our favorite sport in delectable daily doses.
A good bowling effort from WI and not one of the days the Aussie batters will want to remember with a couple of soft dismissals they’ll be disappointed with. That aside, the biggest difference between the two teams was the batting tail – the WI put on 178 for the last 4 wickets, the Aussies put on 69. That’s a big turn around from what we often see.
If WI can get 400 in front with a day to go, they’ll win. 350 in front makes WI favourites with Aus an outisde chance. A 300 run lead would make it pretty even, and with only 250 Aus will be big favourites. Can’t wait for day 4 to see how it plays out. Looking forward to the next installment on here!!!
Magic moment #1: The guy taking the one-handed catch off Haddin’s 6 while holding (and not spilling a drop of) his beer in his left hand. Calm as you like. Awesome.
Magic moment #2: Benn literally bowling a “no ball” to Haddin and the WI fielders cracking up while Haddin tries to work out what the hell’s happening.
Tragic moments: The 9 Australian wickets that fell due to poor or careless batting. It’s never good when the entire team gets out of it’s own accord. Good for the opposition only.
Aussie Rob, the little piss-ant wouldn’t make it in the West Indies. Probably just some sad little 17-year-old Indian boy with no power and no prospect in life. The only thing they can do is hop on cricket forums and show the world their ignorance, flimsy education, and backward beliefs. These pathetic little creatures are a dime a dozen on the internet.
I’m an uneducated ignorant Indian boy with no prospects in life (no wonder I run a highlights site) who keeps looking over his shoulder – does that qualify for backward beliefs. Anyhow, do limit comments here to cricket. As for judging people based on their nationality, I’d say if someone is a human being, there’s a good chance he’s an as*hole in some way or the other. So big deal. – Admin
Admin – I wasn’t talking about you or about every 17-year-old boy in India. But, do you believe in conspiracy theories and that any team that beats ‘your’ team must be cheats? Are you abusive, nasty, petty, irrational? If so, then you’re the same as Abshalom. If not, then you’re not the same. If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, quacks like a duck…
You may have noticed that I have been commenting on the cricket. Personally, it would be nice if there was some actual commentary, rather than just hate and stupidity, coming from some others on here.
Yep I agree about the comments preferably staying off the personal, but given how things have gone, I suppose I’m forced now to allow Abshalom to have his retort though I’d request him to use his ingenuity to mould his retort in a cricketing way, so that the future of this thread remains cricket-related – Admin
I also have said all I’m going to say regarding Mr. Abshalom’s posts.
Personal attacks based on race or national origin NEVER make the other party in any way amenable to your main point.
This is the bad side of the internet and its forums, where certain persons, now hidden and anonymous, say nasty things they’d bever say in person.
Cricket, of all things, should be a uniter of people, not a divider. It was originally conceived as a friendly contest between gentlemen, which I think it still essentially is, except so many fans ruin the spirit of it with their spiteful partisanship.
To his credit, Abshalom, until he was personally attacked, did not directly attack any other posters in this way. If he continues to believe the Aussies are cheaters, it is his right to do so, whatever his reasons.
Meanwhile, there’s exciting an exciting match to watch and enjoy.
Thank you.
Grow up the lot of ya….LOL
Is Nash a chearter Abshalom?? He is an Aussie isn’t he?????…………HA!
Can anyone explain to me what the point of the 3rd Umpire appeal is, if the ball was clearly going on to hit the stumps and the 3rd umpire calls it not out?
