Bangalore Bat
Chargers Bat
Watch cricket highlights – Deccan Chargers vs Royal Challengers Bangalore – the 2nd Leg from IPL 2009.
Scoreline: Bangalore 170 – Manish Pandey 114
Deccan Chargers 158/6 – Herschelle Gibbs 60 – Anil Kumble 4-23-2
Now that it’s done and Bangalore are through credit’s finally due for Kumble for lifting a beleaguered team first as the most consistent bowler and later as captain. The team selections have been weird throughout, but somehow they seem to have always worked. So it’s best to leave it at that cos any further talk on that is only worthy of a well-aimed chappal. Manish Pandey came in today and scored a hundred just when one was getting ready to rant about Goswami and Ryder’s continued absence.
The B’lore innings after Merwe entered early turned into one long slog-fest. Pandey too started mirroring Merwe and was lucky to get where he did cos Merwe’s game is something that has worked perfectly for him and him alone. I doubt if there has been a costlier miss in the IPL than Pandey’s today – 112 runs. In a way, Pandey seemed to benefit from Merwe’s dismissal as Dravid appeared to get him to play a little less just-belt-man. An ill-timed ad break cut through the 100 moment that could well have been the peak of Manish’s cricket career.
Symonds leaving his team out to hang is happening a little too often and the Chargers will now be a nervous bunch every time Gilchrist or Gibbs get out with just too much being left for Rohit Sharma to do. It’s really odd that Laxman continues to have to sit out (unless he has some sort of injury) for the likes of Suman, Venugopal Rao and Azhar Bilakhia.
The semi line-ups are actually a battle of the similars – Delhi vs Deccan and Bangalore vs Chennai – so good fun ahead.
Recall: Chargers put on a overbearing show – Deccan Chargers vs Bangalore 1st Leg
i won to see highlights royal chalanger vs deccan chargers frist inning highlights
ok
I wont be surprised to see’em clash again in the finals! It’ll be great to watch last year’s laggards clash in this year’s final..Although their respective opponents are rated far higher..Chennai is 2nd only because of a rained away match..and i sense Delhi doing a Punjab tommorow..
My bet is on BRC to take this title..coz they’ve beaten the rest of the semi finalists on the trot..
playing Laxman? Must be the craziest thing to do, he coudnt touch it even if it was a football in this version of cricket…maybe a fluke once in a while but he definitely is a test player and not IPL material..just a costly mantle piece for chargers.
I think the secret to Venus strength is his hair..last IPL full long hair..full success.. this ipl medium sucess till before this match becoz he cut hair but keep little beard…but now he cut beard..become clean shaven..he listen to mothers words i.e “on important ocassion u should be presentable and smart..so be clean shaven” he know important occassion soon coming..he play semi finaling mostly… likely he find girl too for marriage ..as mother told everybody… he in SA..very very close to USA and he is part time cricketer who in sofware working in DCS…all the best to all 4 teams and Atb to Venu..
3 Courageous Captains-not sure whether it leads to success but they are definately gutsy
a)Brendon Mccullum= Backing Ajit Agarkar all the way
b)Kumble= Backing Robin Uttappa who is having a horror-time so far
c)Dhoni= Backing Balaji after the disaster spell
Only time will tell for b) and c) if they back the guys in the semis whether it was courageous and a masterstroke..
Gilly is a smart player, he wont play Laxman. Players like Kaif, Laxman, Venu, Chopra should not be playing T20. I think IPL should ban them even entering the stadium.
Congrats Anil you truly are the winner!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I never expected this from your team.
any one knows whether ipl comes live on net
