I suppose the videos show that 1 man in a sense can win a cricket match on his own (well, as much as a scrappily created highlights package can show). Delhi’s over-aggressive streak that has threatened to drown them through the season put them in a round hole with two men in it, but then the very same trait also got them out of it. So no one can really complain about that. If anything, Dilshan not getting enough of the strike towards the end could perhaps be an afterthought. But all that probably wouldn’t have mattered cos Gilchrist would have set himself for a longer innings.
Sehwag like only he can summed up the Gillly knock – “bowlers tried everything, they bowled yorkers, full toss, good length, short-pitch. Everything went for fours and sixes.” Ironic that Jack Clark big-pauncho of Cricket Australia was around to hand Gilchrist his Man of the Match thing.

Pre-Play: Delhi have the supposed edge considering their run this season and also the fact that they won both games against DC earlier – the 2nd Leg in particular was snatched away by Delhi. The Chargers needed 25 off 20 deliveries with 7 wickets in hand and eventually lost by 12 runs.
But in reality the two are quite evenly matched – insane openers, similar bowling attack (if Vaas plays for DC – Nannes/Nehra v RP Singh/Vaas; Ojha v Mishra), a tendency to implode given the over-aggressive nature of the batsmen (Dilshan v Symonds in particular) and a stabilizing factor in the middle order that can launch bigtime – AB v Rohit Sharma.
So will Delhi continue their dominance over the Chargers or will DC serenade the Law of Averages and win the 1 game that matters this season.

I agree with Mike England about some of the comments. I am not going to elaborate. I just hope those who watch these highlights realize that it is a privilege to be able to watch highlights of the game FREE of cost few hours after the conclusion of the game without having to register or go through ads.

I’m amazed that every time the “f***in” middle name has been used on this site to emphasize the quality of a knock, someone comes around and misinterprets it as anything but appreciative. Oddly, the only time no one has complained was when a Tendulkar knock was described thus – I suppose that perfectly describes the typical Tendulkar fan – he knows what the man is all about and is only interested in watching the video and not bothering about the text crap.
The only explanation I can think of for the confusion over the usage of f***in is – when you’re excited about someone you like doing well, the tendency is to find an enemy so that your emotions of exhilaration are heightened and justified.

Personally, Gilchirst ain’t shit and matter of fact, I hated, hate him every single way.. racist if anything. Power comes within talent while I do beleive he was best of the lot here today. I wish Vivian Richards was in the opposition, such grace, talented cricketer as he is. Gilly – compared to a lion? heck No.. a swine – yes! I do think he had a good day today but don’t wish for Deccan’s Gilly to win the contest.

As you can see from my previous post, I certainly did not think you were being appreciative while describing Gilchrist’s knock using the “f” word. For lack of better explanation, all I can think of is “To each it’s own”.
This is the first time I have seen you use the “f” word. You probably have said it before but I never saw it. You are certainly right about me being Sachin fan. I will give you that but I probably would have made similar comment if you had associated the “f” word with Sachin too.
