Watch cricket highlights: England vs Australia 2nd Ashes Test, Day 3 from Lord’s played on July 18, 2009.

England 311/6: Matt Prior 61, Collingwood 54, KP 44
So Siddle apart from being light-bosomed and wearing whitewash on his lips is also big-hearted and can treat aggressive young fast bowlers with a gentle smile or stern reprimand. Should be principal at a boy’s school. Good stuff by him to keep England at bay. He would also later bowl during phases when no one else would likely want to. No wonder his big heart almost popped out yesterday as he coughed around.
Strauss and the other guy went at a rapid pace initially, paving the way ostensibly for KP to seize things. What instead resulted was a comatose post-lunch session. Oddly, it was still gripping (for me) despite the nothing-happening. Maybe it was just the way players like Laxman and Pietersen never look boring even when they’re not scoring. Or maybe I was hoping for a dramatic revival in Johnson’s form. Ponting on his part did everything to up Mitchell barring seizing him and showering manly love in public view. Didn’t work though.
Eventually, England didn’t pay for the exits of KP and Bopara because of the unlikely pairing of Prior and gallant Collingwood who today was dashing Collingwood. So, a 500 plus target on offer for Australia tomorrow with a couple of days time to kill.

Even if the end result is shit, I do this to keep it interesting for myself, cos ideally after watching a game late in the night, I would rather get down on my knees to Cassandra Wild than sit down to make some dumb highlights. I might outgrow it sooner or later, or shift to other ways to keep it interesting which might go unnoticed by you (has been done on this site several times in the past).
