Part 2
Watch cricket highlights from Day 5 at Mohali – England vs India – the 2nd test cricket match.
A tame draw in the end at Mohali, but the day did have moments worth taking a look at the highlights video for. First the
Scoreline: India 251 declared. Yuvraj Singh 86, Gautham Gambhir 97. England 64/1 in the 28 overs bowled.
After Yuvraj Singh last evening had snuffed out the faint possibility of an England win, India played out today in pursuit of centuries for Gambhir and Yuvraj. Neither happened. Gambhir looked nervous before he got out on 97 to a cool catch by Ian Bell who also had two run outs – surprisingly the highlight of his tour. Surprising, cos of the brilliant run he had vs India in 2007. Yuvraj played some breathtaking shots yet again. However, look out for his imitation of Pietersen while fielding and an exaggerated pie-chucking display, while KP sitting in the balcony looks on and responds like a gentleman – picks up the newspaper and delves deep into it. The two at the end of the game had a round of laughs and that’s that to the whole pie-chucker incident. Will put up a chronological video of the entire Yuvraj-KP-Flintoff thing tomorrow.
At Lunch: India going into lunch were 216/4. Yuvraj Singh and Gautham Gambhir appeared headed for centuries apiece in the game. Both hundreds, if they do come, would be important to either player. For Gambhir it would be his second century in the game, and for Yuvraj, another milestone in the 2nd innings of a test match, considering that even the great players have a lesser 2nd innings record. And of course, there’s that thing about being a pie chucker – in a game headed draw-wards, might as well get the hundred to rub it in further.
