India vs New Zealand 2nd ODI Highlights

India Batting (upto rain delay)

Rest

Watch cricket highlights – India vs New Zealand, 2nd ODI Highlights from Wellington played on March 6, 2009.

Scoreline: 3rd Rain delay ends Indian innings at 188/4 (28.4) Match called off – Virender Sehwag 54 (36), Sachin Tendulkar 61.

Sehwag went nuts again. And Tendulkar in contrast at the other end was moving them in singles. This has been the pattern for most games ever since he and Sehwag started opening the batting. The only exceptions to this gameplan of his has been big games like (India vs Pakistan – World Cup 2003) or when Sehwag went through a long phase of getting out in the 20s. The moment Sehwag was out, Sachin played fantastic attacking shots and I hope that shuts up all those who’ve been murmuring about this young team not needing Tendulkar anymore. When will people realize that Tendulkar 99 out of 100 times plays the game he wants to play rather than what he can play. The rain delays (especially the 1st one) worked mostly against India with wickets falling and momentum lost. Ian Butler was however fantastic when India were desperate to launch in the final session of their play.

Pregame: With a win down, and the T20 losses forgotten, tongues have begun salivating at the thought of going after Sachin Tendulkar. Will tomorrow be the day he shuts them up for a few months more?
