Mid-Tea: The pounding continued deep into Day 2 for India. Brendon McCullum got the century he should have got in the 2nd innings of the 1st test. The Indian fielding continued to be lacklustre. The only time India looked anything like their current run was post-tea when they managed to wrap up things. Sehwag was out at the time of writing this, but you feel any result other than a draw would have to be handed out by the Indian batsmen.
Fore-play: What a series Jesse Ryder has been having. Having heard about his little wild child trysts, sort of expected him to be similar in his batting – quite the opposite actually with smart calm aggression when required. The number of modes he’s switched between T20-ODI&Test cricket is quite amazing for someone still early in his career.
As Ram comments, it’s upto Dravid and Sachin to salvage a draw for India from this. You’d back them to do it, but it’s tough. Dravid was looking very good in his short stint today, while Tendulkar – well, that’s obvious isn’t it.
