India get there in 17 overs losing only Rohit Sharma 80 (53). Gautham Gambhir 52 (47)
For all the criticism that the IPL has copped, we’ve seen time and time again the resurgence or emergence of quality cricketers from it – Shaun Marsh, Shane Watson, Yusuf Pathan, Pragyan Ojha, Sohail Tanvir, Shoaib Akhtar (2008) and Brett Lee, RP Singh, Andrew Symonds (to a certain extent) and now Rohit Sharma (2009). Just when his limited-over career had looked unfortunately ready to head for a break (particularly after the 5th ODI Ind vs NZ), the IPL trotted along and now people can’t stop ranting about his special talent.
Pakistan looked their exciting-and-unpredictable selves for the most part of their batting (with Misbah, imperious as always) but fell away into listless mode while bowling. India did bat very well, but after a while some of the Pakistan players appeared to have lost interest in the game. Tanvir oddly came on to bowl only in the 11th over, way after India were coasting along. His coming on earlier might not have necessarily changed the result, but watching Yasir Arafat can be painfully annoying.

As a fellow Mumbaikar, I may have a bit biased opinion about Rohit Sharma but I think he is a cool cat and could be the next Sachin Tendulkar for India. I think he has adjusted well to different formats. Keep in mind he is only 23 years old.
I do not know much about Yasir Arafat but from whatever I know and have read, I thought he was a batsman who could bowl (in the mold of Andrew Symonds, Yuvraj Singh, etc). I am not sure when did he become a opening bowler.
Admin, who are your teams for T20 World Cup semi finals & final? For me it is India, South Africa, Australia, & (England or Sri Lanka). For finals, it will be India v/s South Africa.
