I really dislike watching India playing in India – the crowd are fanatical slu*s. They never respect the opposition or even applaud them. It’s like a wrestling audience, old people with nothing in their lives.

I hear the BCCI is going to have its own online channel soon. If those greedy bugg3rs stop me from watching matches not shown by Sky I’ll be very upset.

To those who complain about the length of the highlights please realise that the admin is constrained by fair use laws. I’m not sure what these are in India and SL but most countries allow for highlights as part of news reporting and there is a limit to what is allowed to be posted (hence the notice at the start, I’m assuming). The greedy BCCI is trying to have the length of highlights shown by news and other sites reduced to prevent us from viewing cricket highlights. Along with CA insisting on the removal of other highlights I think these guys are being bloody greedy – they have control over the full broadcasts and they have the sponsorship we all see on even the highlights. Neither the BCCI nor CA is exactly begging for cash and they are going to shut out those who can’t afford satellite subscription from watching cricket if they are not careful. Greed always comes home to roost, take the current financial cock up as exhibit 1!

As for those saying that India lost due to missing players, this is part of the game the team has to deal with. Oz won the CT with half of their players on the stretcher – if India is going to continue as the best team in the world they are going to need depth (as well as a better bowling attack of course). On the other hand, the fact that the BCCI hasn’t planned many tests in the next 6-8 months is not going to do the India team any favours in the rankings, either.

Good to see SL getting their own back on India. Sharma doing well on a pitch offering some bounce and movement (wow, didn’t he look ordinary in the ODI series against Australia) – however, Jayasuriya got better bowling figures than Sharma. And Sangakkara just doing a kick-ar*e job to headline a desperate and fighting SL team.

I’d like to see Indian supporters in the streets burning effigies (of Sharma, for dropping Sangakkara).

In a year when India finally achieved No. 1 status in tests but did so poorly in 20/20s and ODIs (losing the Champions Trophy, ICC T20, ODI series against Australia, 20/20 games against NZ, ICL etc.), it’s ironic that India is abandoning test matches at home in favour of the shorter games. It would be so sweet to see them thrashed by all and sundry at home in 2010 while continuing to succeed in tests away.
