Simply put, a beautiful test innings by Dravid harking back to the 2001-2004 period of his career when he was at his fluent best. Not often that you have a 170 odd with only a couple of semi-half chances given to the fielding side.
A look at the number of deliveries taken by the three batsmen would be sufficient to emphasize the unbridled nature of the knocks coming in the wake of a 32/4 situation.
I’ve not been particularly a Dhoni-boy over the last couple of years, but you just have to admire his ability to understand with shocking clarity the different ways to get what he needs to get – runs.
While Dravid was onto something special right from the outset, it was aided in part at the start by his partner of many-a-crime (in ODI cricket) – Yuvraj ‘the-reason-some-of-us-will-watch-Indian-cricket-after-Sachin-retires’ Singh.
Welegedara has apparently played a couple of tests before this. But those who watched the Champions League will recall his super stuff for Wayamba particularly against Dilshan. So no surprise he was picked for Thushara, even if the format of cricket was different.
There were several comments on air about Murali not turning the ball. The fact that these comments were made on the 1st day of a test, just enforces the standards he’s set. On the contrary, the truth could well be that 3 batsmen playing at their best can make a great spinner having an average day look ordinary. While NZ might not be the best pointers for playing spin, a look at his recent performances during the New Zealand tour of SL particularly on Day 3 of the 1st Test should quell any doubts about his continued potency.
Russel Arnold as a player was an exciting ballsy type of guy. In his new role as commentator, he’s pretty much the same except that he appears to be operating most of the time on a glorious codeine-rum cocktail. For want of time, I wasn’t able to put in everything he said into the clips, but it was quite entertaining.

Does anyone think that India lost to Australia in the ODIs, because they didn’t have Dravid? He has been scoring runs at a good pace and knows how to stay in the middle for shit load of overs.

This is a solution provided by users in the past to overcome blocking – not sure how to go about it – but you could try it
Use ultrasurf or hotspot shield.
The reason I use Dailymotion is because the other options (barring youtube which experience has shown isn’t an option really) slow down when there are many users accessing the clips and given that plenty of other sites apart from this, use the same clips, the clips buffer really slow at times
That’s what experience is !!! many started saying that he is old ,kicked him out from team ,This innings is a slap to them from Dravid,He does not need to prove anything,he just paly for the team ,such a great fighter.always remember “OLD IS GOLD”
I really feel The Pakistani team always misread those experience players , i still feel sorry for wasim,waqar , they were such GREAT match winner,inspite this they could not finish their career as they wanted.
I hope the indian selectors will not do this…
Pls let sachin,dravid,laxman play till they want to play for the team.

Hey Rani. I would gladly tell you where to buy an online live subscription if I knew of one. Thing is, I’ve always stayed clear of online live links for 2 reasons:
1. I watch the games on TV
2 This site has always maintained a policy of ‘no live links’ to prevent unwanted legal hassles. It is for this reason that I’ve in the past refused paid ads from unofficial live streaming sites. While i understand it must be frustrating to be in a country where you can’t watch cricket even if you wanted to pay for it, I really can’t help you there. Sorry. – Admin

I dont mean to split hairs but the latest highlights that you upload on dailymotion.com run flawlessly for me but these older highlights off of sapo.pt are very ‘framey’ – run for 10 secs, stop for 30 secs, run again.. very irritating! I checked immediately with your latest upload(dailymotion) & it runs flawlessly; download speed is around 2.5mbps. Is there something I can do?

That’s one of the disadvantages with Sapo, but the advantage is the clips stay up longer and are not deleted that often – unfortunately your speed doesn’t make a diff there because Sapo limits the speed of streaming because of their limited bandwidth. Apart from saying – press play, then pause, then think about how to sort this soaps on tv problem, then play the video (which should now run without a hitch) – there’s no other solution. – Admin
