Watch cricket highlights: India vs Sri Lanka 3rd Test, Day 1 at Mumbai played on December 2, 2009.

Scoreline: Sri Lanka 366/8 Dilshan 109, Angelo Mathews 86 no, Paranavitana 53, Prasanna J 43 | Harbhajan Singh 4 wickets

The team trailing the series might have lost the advantage towards the end of day’s play, but at least they played like a team trailing a series but looking to bounce back rather than putting out a martyred performance. Even the main men who missed out – Mahela and Sangakkara – looked to try and disrupt the Indian bowlers, even if it didn’t really come off on the day.

A clever knock by Dilshan picking moments in the game to seize control on a day when the Indian bowlers for the most part were quite good – Zaheer spent most of the day frustrated and strolling halfway down towards the batsmen and probably deserved the late wicket more than anyone else today. Looks like the ODIs will see Zaheer back to being himself if he can get over his no-ball issues.

With the sedatives slowly wearing off, Sreesanth apart from his historical mysteries also showed signs of returning to some of his old tricks – like running in and in a quick cunning move hopping wildly to the edge of the crease to change the angle of delivery without too much of an effect on the batsman. However, if he can produce a Kanpur-kind of spell every third match he plays in, no one would really complain.

    Nice excuse!

I think the appropriate term would have been nice reason, not nice excuse. Excuse just doesn’t make sense, when there is a genuine problem causing a delay on a free site – Admin

  23. Jaimy says:

I’m not Sreesant’s biggest fan but I wish the media and commentators would leave the hell alone.
I hate that they keep asking him about Bhajji. He’s gone through enough on that one and it looks like he is being punished and humiliated again and again even though it was Bhajji who was in the wrong there.

  24. Jaimy says:

Addy … # II was the only one that was slow to buffer (sometimes would just stop and do nothing), but I found it helped to click on the video and watch it on the sapo website.

Not sure how that would work – but whatever works, as long as it works – Admin

  25. Chillin Dude says:

Gud gamne thus far on a flat turning pitch, no wonder dis series has had so many runs scored but i think it is not gud for da game of cricket, everyone loves to see fast bowlers taking wickets, not slow, low turning pitches, which are only in India.

  26. Daniel Alexander says:

murali magic awaits for day two….

  27. Shinwari Mama says:

I think good job by the Srilankan batsmen on the first day. The team may score around 350 in 1st inning.
I think the Srilankan team more depends of the Tulisekrana’s bowling; he is a nice bowler, see what he can do for the team.
Hoping for a nice and tight match.

  28. Prahlad says:

    Admin,

I love your website, and I think you are doing an awesome job. However, do you really think anyone is interested in listening to some bimbo interview Sreesanth about irrelevant shit before the match? You know your audience better, but my vote would be to remove all that excess baggage and just play the match :)

I included that cos I found the history, mystery really funny – Admin

  29. Kay says:

Hi! Great highlights…just wondering, why haven’t you used daily motion for all the clips?

I recently had a fire at my apartment – things like power and internet are not functioning properly, so Dailymotion being very sensitive to the slightest of disruption in connectivity was turning out impossible to upload to. Hence the change of site – Admin

  30. sahil says:

So its nice innings but its little slow anyway waiting for the new session .
    good luck for srilanka

  31. daily motion says:

mr.admin plz plz plz upload in dailymotion i will be happy thankx alots god bless you bye

  32. Kay says:

I’m sorry to hear about the fire – hope you didn’t loose any of your belongings.

Just FYI, I vote to keep all the funny bits in the highlights like you do! Like Sreesant’s history mystery comment or even some of Russell Arnold’s quotes.

This site is an absolute God sent!

  33. Indiana says:

Just as we Indian do not like a bad decision against our batsmen, so must we sympathize with the Sri Lankan fans. Poor Dilsan was given a horrible decision by the umpire.
