Cricket highlights: The 1st and only T20 game – Sri Lanka vs India 2009 – played at Colombo on Feb 10, 2009.
Scoreline: SL 171. Sanath Jayasuriya 33 (17), Dilshan 61 (47). Yusuf Pathan and Irfan Pathan pull India out of a no-win situation – Yusuf: 22 (10), Irfan 33 (16). Man of the Match – Yusuf Pathan
Stunning first phase of the game which saw Jayasuriya launching, Irfan Pathan dropping Dilshan but kind of making up by picking up Jayasuriya. A silent mid-period with the Indian spinners in particular Yusuf Pathan (4-23-2) not conceding much, and ridiculous umpiring by Gamini Silva – forget the plumb LBWs not given – he even called a legbye a wide. You’ll remember him as the guy who gave Tendulkar out a couple of times wrongly in the ODIs.
Yuvraj Singh and Suresh Raina pulled out breathtaking cricket but a flurry of wickets brought India crashing to 115/7 with 29 balls and 57 runs to get. Dhoni once again suffered a painful slow end at the hands of Jayasuriya – not surprising considering the current avatar of MS – years back when Dhoni the hitter was around, Sanath had strangled him in the final over of a run chase. Jayasuriya’s figures were 3-10-1. Oddly he didn’t bowl his 4th over.
You got the feeling that though Irfan had bowled well, the fact that Yusuf was at the other end, steadied him quite a bit, and helped him wallop them around after Yusuf had put India back on the scent. Fantastic performance by the brothers. There have been patterns in world cricket of late like the recent flurry of 90s. Today was a tale of poor umpiring – Gamini Silva here and Steve Davis in the Aus-NZ game, though the latter seemed to have lesser impact on the nature of the match – and brothers – the Husseys and the Pathans.
Pregame: No Mahela Jayawardene and Sangakkara for SL – Dilshan will captain this game that starts at 13:30 GMT. Lasith Malinga will be back in action after a long long break.

Dear Gamini Silva,
If you don’t know LBW rules go and refresh yourself. You dead body gave LBW to batting great Sachin for the ball pitched outside the leg stump and there was a huge gap between leg stump and ball like your pot belly. But you assumed a blind dog role when it comes to the LBW judgement for SL. You don’t deserve to watch cricket match but pathetic ICC is allowing you to umpire international match. What an atrocity of time to this cricket world!!!

this s d fentastic kind cricket.i personnelly found indians pretty screwd up in d beginning loosing first 2 awkwardly playing guys of delhi,de r gautam and viru but after that yuvi and raina controlled the momentum to our side.that was so sad when yuvi and raina went bak to bak to pavilion.dhoni,rohit and jadeja also failed to bring the condition under the hand.rather we can say the match was all of pathan players,they brought up the victory saving four balls at the end with an unbroken partnership between brothers,my overall admiration goes to pathan players,they just rocked indian fans around the pitch.god bless pathans and best wishes
