You can deride them, but you can’t accuse Bangladesh of being boring while batting. Not sure if the fans would like it this way, though. Plenty from this test for individual players – for Bangladesh two batsmen scoring hundreds away in one test has to be significant (especially when the two have been considered lower order players for a while). The Shakib hundred has to be opne of the best in recent times even if you allow for the sun coming out and a complacent bowling attack that wasn’t the most intimidating. For NZ, if Martin Guptill at least now isn’t rated as one of the best young cricketing talents around, something must be wrong.

   Bangladesh need to move their form batsmen/better batsmen up the order BUT as I said yesterday the changes they need to make aren’t being executed because they seem quite content with “coming closer” rather than winning or drawing.
