Watch cricket highlights – New Zealand vs South Africa from the 2009 T20 World Cup.
Scoreline: 128/7: JP Duminy 29 (23), Graeme Smith 33 (35) – Ian Butler 4-13-2
NZ fall short off the last ball: 127 – Brendon McCullum 57 (54) – van der Merwe 4-14-2
The two sides’ innings kind of mirrored each other. Brisk starts followed by a meandering passage and some big hits at the end. Of course, NZ were a bit brisker (will always happen or at least appear to happen when you have McCullum on one side and Kallis on the other). Either side had their reasons to a certain extent for the low scores – SA experimented with their batting order (Gibbs not having a shot at 20 overs doesn’t seem to be working, 2nd time in a row) while NZ were missing Ryder through an abdominal injury. I guess, the more you have of something, the more likely it is to sustain injury. Others missing through injury for NZ were Franklin and Vettori, while Ross Taylor could also be joining them.
You’d expect New Zealand at 61 needed off 50 to get there, with McCullum and Ross around, but just as Butler was crucial to pulling down the SA total, Merwe bowled a crucial spell and all of a sudden you needed Oram to rediscover himself, which didn’t totally happen despite the margin of loss being a single run. Shots that would have cleared the ropes a couple of years back, were fetching twos. And SA pulled off the first real defence of a tight total by any team in the tournament .
Pregame: With Scotland out of this WC, the game is more a show of strength and momentum (if there’s anything like that in reality). Jesse Ryder wasn’t trusted too much by Bangalore during the IPL, but this could well be the tournament to increase his girth reputation.
go proteas…kick ass

7 minutes late there, admin
chief,
thanks for your highlights. i only request you to not reveal the result of the game until the highlights are uploaded. like for today’s south africa v new zealand game – you had uploaded the sa batting, but had mentioned that new zealand lost out on the last ball. this match would have been fantastic to watch (thanks to your website), but would have been so much more exciting if we didn’t know the result. i hope you can rectify this. again, thanks for this site and keep up the good work.
Well, actually, thats the reason why the score’s mentioned below a sponsor. Ok I get it, when the 2nd vids not up your eye can tend to stray around. Ok will do or rather not do in future – no problem – ListenUp (formerly masquerading as an officious admin)
great game! I was fuming as SA crawled and stuttered to 128… but the end was thrilling.
Hi Mate,
Your effort need to appreciated… Great work..
Hey,
anyone know a where I can download these matches. I don’t like to watch it on low quality flash players. No offence cricket-online! Hats off for the service man. However, when you have fast enough internet, you might as well watch a clearer picture.
Thanks

Hello
What game played by south african, they bravely defended the modest total.
South African are now confirmed to be the most talented side of cricket who can defeat any team in any format of cricket.
However , such match are very rare in world cricket but often in T20 cricket.
