Despite not having any nationalistic bias for either of the teams involved here, was hoping Pakistan would win this simply because no one (apart from supporters of the winning team) like to see any team perform a clean sweep. But at least Kamran got his shot at one final hurrah on a day when Shaun Tait erotically rode the speed gun along with the other pacers.
Not sure if the T20 format is the right venture to revive Imran Nazir’s career. With the one-track-attack-mode having lodged itself in his brain early in his career, the T20 game will only see him implode further. A complete ODI series perhaps with the assurance of not having to worry about his place from a strong captain like Afridi could prevent the exit of yet another super talent from Pakistan.
Preening Time: Before the hype around Steven Smith and Warne’s approving nod had reached non-Australian ears/eyes, he’d been picked here and here by my Impotent Choice Committee (ICC) as something special. Now if Hauritz could only retire, he’d be drafted in as the regular spinner well before the couple of years the ICC thought it would take for him to make the cricketing world hop out of their seats.

Can’t believe Pakis lost from such a comfortable position..reminds me of Indian team in 90′s..capable of loosing games from winning position. Pakis gave a leeway and Oz delivered the knockout punch!

WELL THE UMPIRE HELP THE AUSI WIN….
Just because Latif got a poor decision doesn’t mean the whole match is unfair nor does it mean the umpires biased to help Australia win. Inside edges are the most difficult for any umpire to pick up. Excuses won’t make up for the fact that Pakistan snatched defeat from the jaws of victory (yet again) and should have won this match irrespective of the Latif’s decision. They were cruising when the Akmal brothers only needed 30 from 36 balls with 6 wickets in hand and with Johnson dropping a simple chance. The Akmal’s sure have talent, but it doesn’t make up for poor concentration against quality opposition.

I thought pakistan were on top of their game and on course to win it, until I saw umar gul bowl. I knew there was something in the pitch and tait just hit his groove at the right time. still, more pleased than disappointed because it was a thrilling game, and pak’s fielding was surprising
