With the introduction of Salman Butt there was a semblance of sanity at the top with even Farhat despite his early jitters looking decent given the tough morning conditions what with all the rain and all.
However, there is only so much Umar and Kamran can do to hide the gaping hole in a middle order missing Younis Khan. What’s with the NZ team – every time one of them does well, he picks up an injury. Now it’s Bond. Wonder if any team has had so many injuries in the last one year – Moral of the year: Employ only ugly male physios if you want a team to be injury-free.

I strongly beileve that pakistan cant play test matches, pakistan doesnt have good test players, except Muhamamd Yousaf and Younis khan,, and i think k sirf 2 batsman se test match nahi jeeta ja sakta,, look it indian team, every batsman is performing very well,, hamarey openers ke average below thirty hai,, wo kese acha perform ker saktay hein, mere nazdeek pakistan ko test cricket he nahi khailna chahiay,
very poor batting by pakistani batsman.they do’nt know that they are playing test match rather than oneday.

Guys don’t compare pak team wid indian one beacuse they are playin in total different condition. they r on gud battin pitch n their own surroundings. pak is too away in totally different conditions. No team gonna come in pak and pak not goin india. so wat ever a few tests pak get they will get it in difficult conditions in Newzeeland, Aus, SA, Eng , WI

@ Luke: I agree with you. English is not the mother tongue of yousuf but he did well. I like the fact that he was not trying to speak quickly as other Captain do in our team…he took his time and answered according to the question as oppose to a remembered answer…way to go Yousuf!
Thanks me2 – Today the highlights are a little later than normal partially because of the overlap in timings with the India – SL game and partially cos the repeat show for this game happened only at 14:30 GMT.

Pakistan did play well , the only time I was confused was when we were not being able to get hold of the openers . After that they fell one after another . I still think this test has a lot to offer in the coming days . Stay tuned..

Goodness, give the man a break. I don’t see advertisting plastered all over this site and there’s no subscription cost for access so I think people should be happy that this site exists at all.
If you don’t like things being posted at intervals, wait until they’re all up for god’s sake!
You can always subscribe to the satellite networks if you’re not happy with this. BTW, I do but Sky doesn’t show many of the matches so I’m just really pleased they can be seen here – in particular this one (NZ Pak) as I just love seeing the NZ fields. It’s like going back in time.

I think I agree that Dan Vettori is probably the best cricketer around – in the terms mentioned above. Sure, he doesn’t have the best stats but he’s a great all rounder and he’s really a great example of ‘the spirit of the game’ as they say. Probably Sachin the next best. I do have some problems with him backing Bhajii during the racism thing, otherwise he’d probably be up there – he has the stats as well as the spirit, for the most part. I suppose it’s a tossup between the principle of anti-racism and the principle of loyalty to your team mates but he must have known how Bhajii can be, certainly we all do now due to the other problems he’s had.

I also have to agree with the comments on Yousuf. Seems like a really nice guy, thoughtful and humble and lets his cricket do the talking – unlike many of the Indians and Australians.
again paki would be in problem, no matter and what ever but look in favour of them. seems to me both teams are not best in test.. but cricket go on! Some people have played a bad game in pakistan with srilankan team (poor) so that,s why no one can vist pakistan. i hope one day be nice
