Yousuf returning to mainstream cricket after a while, like most who play Mendis the first time, struggled early on. It was a sketchy innings that became better through his doggedness and Lady Luck who seemed charmed by all that hairy masculinity. In the end, the decisions notwithstanding, a pretty amazing return to cricket. This kind of stuff doesn’t happen often in any sport, let alone cricket. Despite a centurion, Misbah in imperious touch, and Akmal in attack-mode, that Sri Lanka were able to restrict the 1st innings lead to 50 runs was the result of seriously good bowling by the pacers particularly with the new ball.
