Unfortunately, Yuvraj Singh and Mahela Jayawardene fell just short to brilliant bowling by Suresh Raina and Laxmipathy Balaji in the final 4 overs. Super knock by Simon Katich too. Never thought super and Katich would ever be mentioned on this site in one sentence.
Matthew Hayden – you have to wonder how he dodges the law – the law of averages. Cannibalistic devouring into Sreesanth who probably needs another slap to set him right again. It might well come from Yuvraj one of these days. VRV Singh looked just the right type of person for Dhoni the bulldozer to finally make a full-fledged appearance this season, while Irfan bowled some good overs in the middle of the madness.
Yuvraj was a frustrated man by the end of it all, especially at Raina’s smart bowling that didn’t allow him freeing of the arms. One of the rare occasions, Yuvraj has batted through and ended on the losing side. In fact, I can’t recall a single other time.

I did not watch it live…however while following the text commentary i could not believe the last 4 overs of Punjab batting… For a nanosec i even entertained the idea that the match was fixed…later more reasonable thoughts prevailed..but the thought that Jaywardene and Yuvraj did not slog or get out slogging for 24 balls i cannot stomach..i had a sneaky feeling that some petty childish ego stuff was going on between yuvi and jayawardene..thats what u feel when u bet ur t-shirt.

Thanks for posting the highlights and the analysis. Initially I did not read the analysis but now that I have read a few, I find it pretty interesting. hey ty for HL…i’m from canada…there was no need for sreesanth for those heroics after getting hayden out….anyway someone should have reminded him that it was the 17th over rather than the 7th over….LoL,and yuvraj’s batting was commendable….looks like Team India is gonna retain the T20 world cup….cheers!!!!
