Watch cricket highlights from the IPL 2009 Final – Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Deccan Chargers.
Scoreline: Deccan Chargers 143/6 – Herschelle Gibbs 53 (48), Andrew Symonds 33 (21), Rohit Sharma 24 (23) – Anil Kumble 4-16-4
Bangalore: 137/9 – Van Der Merwe 32 (21), Ross Taylor 27 (20) – Pragyan Ojha 4-28-3, RP Singh 4-16-1
So the Deccan Chargers are IPL 2009 Champions and deservingly cos they had it that rare champion quality to wring out a win after some Kumble brilliance had broken down their batting and Bangalore were coasting along (99/4 – 45 needed off 35).
Too bad Robin Uthappa couldn’t pull off for Bangalore what he has for India in the past. It didn’t help that he had RP Singh bowling at him, who brilliantly read the two shots Robin goes for in situations like this – the walk-down swat and the hoick over fine leg.
I suppose what Symonds said in one of those post-match things makes sense – Chargers had a number of players who’ve been in teams that have won World Cups and big games – Gilchrist, Rohit Sharma, RP Singh, Symonds himself and Gibbs (the 450 run chase counts big time).
Apart from pulling off champion moments today as a team, the DC franchise too probably deserves it more than Bangalore cos you never heard a murmur from them last season in contrast to the bosses at Bangalore.
Recall: 1 apiece. Deccan defended well after a Gilchrist knock had set up 184 – Deccan vs Bangalore 1st Leg. Bangalore then defended after a Pandey hundred – Bangalore vs Deccan 2nd Leg

this match was rearly the explended match between the hyderabad deccan chargers and banglore royal challanger this match was telecast by set max in all over india according to my oppinion the breath taking finish between both the team. another thing i want to mention that being a hyderabadi i feel very proud about how the things turn out. intially in the first off of the match i thought that we will lose the match when gilchrist got out. then the things out most in the favour of hyderabadi .
