Really asked some questions about Oz’s bowling attack – early days, but I’m still not sold on McDonald and Hilfenhaus. Macca seems decent at line and length – but isn’t a strike bowler and hasn’t done much with the bat. Considering that he’s picked as an all-rounder, he has to lift his batting game as he wouldn’t get picked on bowling alone. Hilfenhaus has yet to prove himself, but got a couple big wickets this game, so he’s on the right track. They both deserve a run to see how they go, but need to step up a bit.
Poor McGain did it again and got tonked. He deseves a chance to see how he goes at this level – but considering his age he’d only have what, 3 to 4 years max. left? Makes me think Oz should be looking at younger spin prospects with potential.
At least Siddle and Johnson seem good, long term strike bowling prospects.
I am from Oz myself but boy the Saffies are showing the Aussies how cricket should be played. Better batting and bowling by a mile in THIS test. Oz will need a miracle just to get a draw, forget winning it.
Yes, Oz are up 2-0 and have won the series but I don’t believe they are just coasting here in a ‘meaningless’ game. No games are meaningless at test level. They have their pride but are just getting pasted good — Saffies definitely proving their series win in Oz was no fluke.
1. Use the Direct Links provided above each video
2. Make sure you have the latest flash player installed from Adobe here
(It's free to download - first uninstall your exiting flash player (In firefox that would be under Tools>Addons). Then from the Adobe link, choose the player appropriate to your system requirements, install, restart browser and try again)
3. If an issue persists, download Firefox here and try using Firefox after repeating (2)
4. If none of this works, for a dailymotion video, try changing HQ at the bottom of the player to SD (suggestion provided by user Ami - works sometimes)
Well batted SA! How good was De Villiers?!
