With the goingons in the Perth Test and given that this test followed in the wake of over 800 runs being plundered in 1 day in the Ind-SL 1st ODI, the first couple of days were an oh-the-pillow’s-so-comforting-fest. Finally, some action on Day 3.
Might be horribly off the mark, but it appears from Stuart Broad’s hand actions to the umpire that his anger stemmed from what he perceived to be some help from the SA dressing room with regards to the late referral. This has happened a few times already since the recent reintroduction of the referrals. Saw it a few times during the Pak-NZ series and during the Perth Test, Watson in his 2nd innings appeared to look searchingly towards his teammates’ area before referring his decision.
