For the current status with regard to the Big Bash go here (not great news)
Watch cricket highlights: South Africa vs England Day 5 from the 3rd Test at Cape Town played on Jan 7, 2010
Scoreline: England draw yet again – Ian Bell 78 (213), Collingwood 40 (188), Graham Onions 0 (11) (Total – 296/9)
After Day 4, personally was looking forward to watching Bell handle a Day 5 situation. Collingwood was probably born on the driest point on the equator so salvaging a draw comes naturally to him, and everyone respects and looks to him in situations like this. But edgy Bell has always been (and will continue to remain) a mystery. So super day for him. Besides, it also means that England will now have a good close-in fielder.
Should Smith have declared earlier? Does it matter, would it have made a difference to the outcome. The timing of a declaration often tends to make sense when the opposing team has been given less than a day to bat out. In this case, with England batting out over 4 and a half sessions, to think that another half an hour or so could have helped bowl them out is like thinking a bowler would have taken 5 wickets instead of 2 because 3 catches were dropped – events occur based on what has happened before and what lies ahead. So if all things and events in this game remained the same until the Bell wicket – he in all likelihood would have batted out the extra half hour (through an earlier declaration) and got out around the same time he did today because the pressure for him probably climaxed at that point knowing there were only a few overs left. Or the other option Morkel might never have bowled that ball because of having tired from bowling the extra overs (caused by an earlier declaration). In short, hindsight is beautiful but best left to idle chatter than serious thought.
In short, short: a slow net connection and slow uploads means more time to dribble onto a page. Good time to get a better connection.

I think & i hope SA must win this match, because they deserve victory.
gud day admin, wat happen to the big bash highlight, i was lookn 2 days now
Hey man – have a look here
http://cricket-online.tv/t20-big-bash-highlights-australia/
2 matches have gone by and appear lost though one appears salvageable
Good stuff admin – keep it coming. Eat that Mandela
Great Test Match this one! Well done England!
oohk, kool, i check it out already
thanks so much for all these clips. much appreciated. happy new year!
onions done it twice .
Such fun watching that last over! All the tension. Thanks for great highlights.
(r u Australian?, just wondered whats your team since you often mention that you are neutral)
@Haakon – Being Indian I’d like to see India win particularly when pet-players do well. Definitely not neutral – biased more towards players over the last few years rather than teams more because of metabolism levels going down rather than any pious neutrality.
A user Ami has suggested a possible solution for dailymotion problems – in case the reinstalling flash, using firefox methods don’t work (for more details refer the box on the left titled having trouble viewing the videos?)
Ami suggests changing HQ to SD (at the bottom of the player)
any body agree that Bell should have got man of the match ? the pressure he has been under to save his test career and the pressure to save the test series wasn’t really acknowledged by giving the award to Smith.
Thanks man, I wouldn’t see these games any other way. Keep up the good work!
The best thing about you guys is the way you capture those non-play moments…..like crowd gestures etc……..just so unique about you guys!!
Brilliant work!!
great work admin…best. site. ever.
would be nice if you could show steyns spell with the new ball to collingwood as part of the highlights instead of the quickish recap as it was shown here…
@rohit: there is nothing more id like to do than to show steyn on song, however, i could capture only some portions of the match live and so depended to a large extent on broadcater highlights for day 5 – which omitted all of his spell – the short bit was from the live footage i’d managed to get – so sorry wont be able to
mr. admin sir you are an absolute legend, without your site I would have no way to watch this. i thank you and good night
hey dude..wanted to see JPD’s century vs australia.. I went straight to this page and somehow the highlights were of different match….
http://cricket-online.tv/australia-vs-south-africa-2nd-melbourne-test-highlights-3rd-day/
@rohit looks like the original clip has been deleted and another 2nd one was added erroneously. have to search for this and put it up sometime as an indvl clip – will do so – intend to put up more players’ clips once i get a breather from this intl stuff
@cowcorner
Bell would have got man of the match if he’d stayed till the end.
As much as a like Morkel, i think that was a poor last over. Only 1 ball was hitting the stumps. If someone like wasim akram or glen mcgrath was bowling, you would have seen 4-5 deliveries aimed at the off stump.
Maybe an earlier declaration wouldn´t have made a difference but….!! why the hell did SA not attack from the beginning of Englands last innings. The field placement was terrible. Only at the end did they surround the batsmen. England were never going to get those runs- just bowl at the wickets and place most of your fielders near the bat. Stupid- not positive enough- Australia would have won that match in théir sleep.
Once again admin you’ve done us all proud. I can’t tell you the effect your highlights have on my day. Thank you.
logging on to this site is an absolute joy. The tension in the final session was high sporting drama, and all the fault lies with Michael Vaughan. Why? He turned to his co-commentator and boasted of cracking open a case of wine to celebrate Englands escape. We still had five left at this point!
My relief at the survival is bolstered by Bell and Colly’s super knocks which proves this bunch may not be fabulously gifted but very gutsy cricketers. Admiration goes to Dale Styen. What a spell, what a cricketer. if only they had a decent spinner this match would have been theirs.
England are the best team to follow – so much drama!!!! (LOL)
Wish I could have seen Steyn’s spell with new ball, I heard it was of the highest quality, but….
Thank you Admin, you are a great asset and should receive an award from the ICC – something like ‘spirit of the game in broadcasting’
Brilliant job, without this we can’t watch it. Cricinfo is good but yo can’t see it. ECB are foolish, they are killing the support and development by selling it to pay tv like sk* only.
ECB are cricket loving businessmen but the bottom line rules them and they are greedy. Its almost like they’re scared of not chasing athe myth of infinte corporate growth.
its a shame because for us its about so much more – identity, friendship, aspiration, escape, memories – as well as pure commercial entertainment.
Cricket is a global language that allows us to respect each other across arbitary divides …
sorry I’m waffling.
one love
Gettin England, show those cocky South Africans how to play cricket
THIS IS THE EXAMPLE GAME FOR CRICKET.NOW I AM ALMOST VERY SURE THAT CRICKET IS WORLD BEST
Great bowling Steyn. Just bad luck for SA
hey, this is a great site. being in the US makes it almost impossible to watch cricket. but this site makes it possible to watch the action. keep up the good work
Admin,
Is it possible to post a special video of Steyn’s spell with the new ball to Collingwood and Bell? I saw the short piece in one of the videos here and it left me yearning for more.
Much appreciated.
Thanks,
Arvind
