Talk of kicking life into a test. If ever the phrase “steaming in” made any sense with respect to a bowler, this was it. There were times during the Post-Tea (1st and 2nd Inn) spell when Steyn looked like he was running in as fast as his delivery.
In an interview on some channel a year or so back, Parnell had mentioned that bowling to Sehwag was something he regarded as his greatest challenge. Today, Sehwag seemed to sense that and the typical Sehwag-intent was more on display in his interactions with Parnell en-route to what was possibly his best non-double/triple hundred. In fact, Parnell bowled like himself in both innings when Sehwag wasn’t around – so if he can bowl himself into some form tomorrow, the Kolkata test could turn into one heck of a bowling display (met by one heck of a batting display hopefully). But that’s getting a little too much into the future because SRT is still around with Murali and Badri desperate to fulfill what they’ve been craving for all these years.
So one of the best bowlers ever (already) had just bowled as super as you can ever imagine anyone ever bowling (supported by Morkel) and Harris goes and continues bowling into the footmarks, allegedly cause he’d got Dhoni out in the 1st Inn. Truth is, this is the same line he’d adopted the last time SA were in India. While some may argue that as long as the results are achieved who cares, but if sport is viewing entertainment, it would have been less of a dampener if he’d gone and taken a loud and prolonged crap on those foot marks in full public view. I think I’ll kill myself if he gets Sachin out tomorrow with that line. On second thoughts maybe not. Hope he gets a bag full of wickets – that would be the ideal sucker punch to the Bhajji ego to get him bowling like he promised in 2001.

I hope Yuvraj plays next game to show he would make no difference guy has no technique and mental ability to be even and a decent test player. Sreesanth would make no difference to South African attack as a bowler of his standard would not even make top domestic sides in South Africa.

Well, I hope that Badrinath gets more opportunities. A smooth transition is what Ind should be aiming for, they should have been for some time now. Dravid, Laxman n Sachin are old! They will be gone soon. If Ind are insist on depending on these guys to out bat the opposition (rather than improve their fielding, bowling and GROOM young batsmen), they will be in for a heck of a rough time in the next 4 yrs. However, the test is not over and SA have to be sure not to CHOKE!
i dont think yuvraj would have made any difference against steyn and morkel in this kind of form. unfortunately there is only one harami in the whole of india with an unbeatable technique and mind of iron… and his jaw is bloody broken and hes growing old too.. were screwed for the future.

India really showed that they suck big time in front of world class teams. I understand that india is No. 1 at present, but I guess its by a default. In front of teams like SA, AUS, india cannot win matches. Inida has always performed their best only in front of subcontinent teams. A proof for my comments can be seen in this match. How can a number 1 team go down so badly that it had to be offered a follow on. And abscence of players is just an excuse. Can some one tell, why Laxman, who got injured in the last test with bangladesh, still sitting in the ground! I am a great India fan. But when I know India is going to the top, I know for sure, that its going to f**k up.

I’m willing to bet how Ind finish this test match and test series WILL determine the outcome of their visit to SA later in the yr. The psych will be..if they can’t handle them on a slow IND pitch, whats gonna happen on a greener SA top. SA need to prep some real green 1′s later in the yr. and Ind better beg that Ishant and Zaheer hit the form of their lives in SA. Still…the match is not over yet, taking 20 wkts without a class spinner against Ind in Ind is a huge task. Steyn holds the key.

Good job on providing highlights of cricket. I have one commnet thought – if you can reduce the highlights to 30 minutes each day instead of the average 60 to 70 minutes, that will be more interesting. Currently, many of the highlights have plays such as tapping the ball or leaving a wide ball. Highlights should be exciting and only way to do this is to be concise. Clearly India forgot to do their much required HOMEWORK on Darryl Steyn. Quite ironic when the coach himself is a South African. It was a One-man Demolition. He def has what it takes to be the best bowler. Jagging the ball back in consistantly, some1 who is as lethal with the new ball as the old 1. Incredible variations. India are quite certainly staring at an innings defeat unless ofcourse the Master himself produces something spectacular. What was also interesting to watch was the judgement of a no. of the Indian batters. They seem to have lost their sense of wher their off stump was.
