Watch cricket highlights: Sri Lanka vs Pakistan 1st Test Day 4, from Galle.
Scoreline: Resuming at 71/2, Pakistan 117 all out in pursuit of 168. Rangana Herath 4 wickets, Thushara 2 wickets and one of the best bowling spells in recent test cricket around the world.
At the end of Day 3, had thought SL were not yet out completely, but had suspected umpire intervention today to be a possible cause for an upset. There were a couple of iffy decisions for either side, but Thushara, Herath and the Pakistani batting ensured these decisions didn’t dent the day in any significant way.
Wonder now with this Herath performance, if Muttiah is fit for the next test, who goes out. Angelo Mathews seems the only possible choice, unless the selectors are brave enough to axe Mendis.
Dilshan as makeshift keeper has garnered some criticism, but I can’t really recall any half-chance not being snapped up by him. There have been the occasional byes thing that have been compensated for with good takes and direct runouts.
Salman Butt expectedly came in for some flak, but he seemed to be getting back his touch which is pretty suited to test cricket (never liked him in any limited over format), so it probably won’t make too much sense to go after him for his shot today. He obviously had something in mind – no one deliberately tries to get out.
One thing with Younis Khan as Pakistan captain, is that I’m always looking forward to the post match thing for that unique grin that inevitably precedes his first answer. In some ways, his manner of speech is similar to Sehwag – simple in thought and straightforward. No bullsh*t.

What was selector thinking? Why is he in the test team?

What the hell is wrong with Pakistan Cricket Association(PCB)and team selectors? What would they pick Shoaib Malik for test match. He doesn’t even deserve a place in ODI team. Malik tried his best to sideline Fawad Alam but Fawad out smart him. Both Fawad & Asim Kamal deserve a spot in the test match.
Shoaib Malik was a pathatic Captain, he tried his best to Sideline Fawad Alam. Malik is useless in Test cricket, doesn’t bowl anymore, or take wicket, even if he can bowl he is not as good as Ajmal & Kaneria. He is no place in Test cricket. Malik can only bat on flat track, he needs to play domestic in England or Austrial to get exposer to seaming pitches, improve his technique and come back.
AND SRILANKA WIN BY 50 RUNS AGAINST PAKISTAN ON THE FIRST TEST…. LOSERS PAKISTAN!!!!!!
I think we respect our team, and don’t behave like indian peoples when their team loose match they through stones in player’s homes. Shoaib Malik is good ODI & t20 player but in test Asim Kamal is good replacement for him. Abt Salman Butt ground reality is that he is best available opener for ODI & Test (not for T20). Inshallah he can perform guys just wait a bit.
To make a wining combination, Pak Team has to replace Saeed Ajmal with a wicket taking Kaneria. Remaining is ok.
What a drametic day in cricketing history. So excitement. Usually the asian countries these short of unusual chacteristics. I feel sad yesterday with Srialnkan bat.But to day pakistanis feed them with the Victory. But SL batting has to be proved
It look to me that OUT Decision for M yousef and Shoaib Malik’s are itchy. But unlikely today ball swings more and players find difficult to play

Regular users of this site may have noticed the cricket-online.tv thing splashed across midway the screen of late. Usually don’t like to interfere with user viewing experience.
Reason for the change:Other so-called cricket highlights sites repeatedly use vids from here. That’s ok. But of late have noticed some branding these vids as their own. Hence the necessity for the eyesore across the screen.
Give CREDIT to Srilankan team especially the bowlers… guys please do not behave like ”OUR neighours”,,,, Malik does not get a spot in the team,,, FAWAD ALAM should be back in the team,,,,,,, thanks to the hosts,, this is a great site to watch cricket…

I am really happy that Sri Lanka won….but I am very disappointed with the batting performance of the team…this has been of great concern over the past few years..and something has to be done regarding this problem…Its always our bowlers that win matches for us and batsmen play very little or no part in the victories…

I was very glad to see Sri Lanka prepare a great test pitch, probably the best I’ve seen between both countries in a long time. Stayed competitive every single day – a great advert for Test cricket. And as for the iffy decisions? I don’t think either of them were… Malik’s need perhaps a little more of a glance but there was nothing from with Moh’d Yusuf’ or anyone elses… either put aside it was a great day of Test cricket.
Great match. Kudos to Pak/Lanka for well fought match. I agree with some guys about replacement 4 Malik. Fawad would be great choice. Another choice would be Asif Akmal. As Indian fan, gud luck to Pak/Lanaka team 4 next match.

I thing Younus Khan is over confident because of won T20. He took wrong decision by choose bat first where 4th inning never won only one 6 runs victory in this ground.

haha, which idiot said this…“Still Kaneria is best test bowler in Pakistan test team” kaneria is a sh*t bowler. I’ll give the statistics… his last 3 test series averages… 10wkts at 42.00, 12wkts at 52.00, 5wkts at 77.00….Unsurprisingly Pakistan lost all 3 series that he played.
The bottomline is this, pakistan’s two men show during the 20/20 WC was all down to gul and afridi. afridi has a better Test batting and bowling average than shoaib malik. Pakistan is nothing without him. you Pakis are quite lucky that mohammad Yousuf is back, together with the worst umpiring decisions ive seen since the ashes series in england…otherwise you paki’s would have lost by 200 runs.
and the man of the match is logically quite stupid. because if the umpires made even more stupid decisions on the 4th day and yousuf’s LBQ wasnt given, he could have made another 20 odd runs and the pakis may have won the test by 2 wickets. yousuf would then be made man of the match, but just because they lost the match, they gave the man of the match to herath. stupid logic.

Shoaib malik is not test player, Fawad alam should play instead of him.Shahid Afridi should had to play test matches, so Pak will be stronger in both bowling and batting.
Salman butt made 28 but played unnecessary short and lose his wicket, I don’t know why has he done that? I think he should be given more chance in another test match, if he still don’t perform then he doesn’t deserve to be in test team and Kaneria is not wicket taker bowler saeed ajmal is better if you compare to him.
i never seen any suckass team like pakistan in my whole life. Pakistan needs to get away from this criket. there will make this cricket a peice of crap…
