Watch cricket highlights: West Indies vs Australia Day 4 of the 2nd Test at Adelaide played on December 7, 2009.

Scoreline: West Indies 284/8 (2nd Inn) Chris Gayle 155 | Johnson 4, Bollinger 2

Not exactly the money shot that one expected based on Gayle and Barath’s intent yesterday; more like a park striptease witnessed through a couple of peering bushes.

But the day started off along expected lines with Gayle looking to launch Hauritz. The bowling wasn’t particularly special early on, so Gayle tempering his game appeared influenced by the quick loss of Barath and Sarwan. Sarwan especially. Almost like Gayle decided once Sarwan went that it was his turn to stick it out.

Johnson had one of his end-of-day super spells – he must be the most confusing bowler for opponent batsmen. He’ll look like a nothing bowler all day and then all of a sudden he’s got 3 quick wickets (with or without Ponting’s sweet nothings in his ear). That’s the difference between the (oft-misused term) champion bowlers and the rest.

Not sure if Bollinger’s hat-perched-atop-silly-smile antics with Rauf will help him get away, but then, can’t really recall too many Australian bowlers who’ve paid fines for far worse misdemeanours than a shapely kick in the air.

Good come-back by the West Indies. They need to be more tight on the fielding, though. Thanks to cricket-online.tv for the highlights.

Fantastic coverage what an awesome website ! Sarwan and chanderpaul are past it, nash looks solid

  7. Cracker Jack says:

people forget that gayle has a Test triple century against South Africa..ok it was a flat track but 300 runs don’t magically score themselves, you still have to concentrate for a long time…he is more than capable of doing this regularly if the situation requires it …it will be great for cricket in general if west indies win this one..

Hallo! from Norway the whole lot of you.

I have read all the posts since yesterday.

Thank you Windigo for seeing that it was not me who attacked people personnaly first.

Thank you admin for allowing me a chance for a rebuttal.

The Aussie attacked my mom. While i was just commenting on cricket and the teams.

I can get nasty but, in the interest of civility i will not abuse these posters again. Even though no Aussie has the right to tell any other nationality where they can go and travel. Especially since _________________ (deleted, sorry dude that has to go. Too political – Admin)
Anyway concerning the match Chris Gayle has set up the team well for at least a draw. But i do believe they need more runs on the board. 296 is just not enough. They need at least 330-350 to be comfortable with at least a draw.

Rampaul has to stay with Chris at least until they hit that milestone. I have seen him bat in local matches and he can make 50s and 60s. All we need from him is a fast and solid 30.

Great going guys i knew you had it in you.

If you had more practice matches in the beginning you would not have lost the match in Brisbane.

Long Live the West Indies from Norway baby!

Hauritz what a shameless cheat he never touched the ball on Baraths dismissal

  16. wtf says:

Stupid Australians crying about that LBW appeal and also commentators weeping. I think 3rd umpire should suspend bollinger for 2 games for his reaction.

  17. shahid ali says:

west indies is struggling hard but i really miss walsh ambrose and those kind of bowlers why west indies is not producing such talent.hope so i wil see such bowlers again in west indies side.

  21. Daveo says:

nice comeback this test by the Windies, after the last one.

Lol at Sammy’s yorker dodging highkick – great swing bowling exhibit by Bollinger. Gayle playing a very nice Captain’s knock.

    Cheers Admin.

  22. jaztech says:

You have to give credit to Gayle for a gutsy innings, but what a piss-weak example of captaining. More scared of not losing than interested in winning the game. Scored just enough runs and used up just enough time to make it unlikely for Australia to chase down the total. WI needs to win to keep the series alive. A draw simply isn’t good enough. Gayle could learn a thing or two about having some balls as a captain by looking at what Australia, NZ, South Africa and England do to try and win a game.

Oh, and the West Indies are cheats. I might as well say it, to compensate for the morons who continue to insist that Australia are cheats. How many times have the WI challenged a decision only to be wrong?? Cheats! How many appeals have they made that were turned down because it wasn’t out?? Cheats! Wow, so this is what it feels like to be freed of the limitations of commonsense…

  23. Aussie Robstar USA says:

Nash must be a cheat right you WI wankers?????

  24. Wade says:

Is there a reason why I can’t see the highlights? I can only see day 1. All I see are white blocks. Please advise!

Usually here, if the white blocks persist after waiting for about 30 seconds, do a refresh, it has to do with the player not loading. However on this occasion, the videos are anyhow not there cos they’ve been deleted by the over-zealous CA board. If possible, try and have a visit within a day of the game – though I will look to remedy the situation tomorrow.
