Watch cricket highlights: Zimbabwe vs Bangladesh, the 4th ODI played at Bulawayo on August 16, 2009.
Scoreline: Zimbabwe 312/8 – Charles Coventry 194 no (156)
Bangladesh win in 47.5 overs to take the series with a game in hand: Tamim Iqbal 154 (138), Junaid Siddique 38
Ok so not a demonic pitch, nothing special in the bowling and fielding from either side but still; still a super game with two brilliant huge knocks on either side on a pretty big ground, which often counts in these kind of 150 plus scores.
Vettori’s Zimbabwean lookalike Coventry could easily have wrested the world record from Anwar had he managed to heckle the strike in the final over. And who knows, even the 200 run barrier may have been breached – Sanath Jayasuriya had come close vs India a decade back getting out on 189 when there were at least a couple of overs left. And recently Tendulkar had looked good for a 200 run breacher vs New Zealand before cramps took him down on 163.
In contrast to Coventry, whose 194 mostly provided the boundaries for his team, Tamim was calm to start with before going nuts in bursts.
Bangladesh got their run chase right, even before the game had started with the reinduction of Junaid and while their chase was on, Zimbabwe threw off an air of – the Coventry knock deserves a win, so all we need to do is sit back and bowl out 50 overs. And though Bangladesh did have a good start, that might well have happened had it not been for Tamim. Super must-watch stuff.
Preplay: The question is: Can Zimbabwe make the 5th ODI a non-redundant game. Sean Williams might be fit for this one and should be an automatic inclusion. He’d missed the 3rd ODI on account of his hand injury sustained during the 2nd game. For Bangladesh, looks like they’ll be fielding their strongest team possible with the sensible return of Junaid Siddique

tamim was best same as coventry
tamim is the best like me.
wow…what a match!! hats off to coventry for equaling saeed anwar’s record. congrats to tamim for a super innings. this game was a wonderful example of improvements made by both teams. these are good signs for international cricket. now all they have to do is replicate their performances against the more established sides in international cricket frequently to quell all the negative comments made against them. theres is no doubt both these teams have high quality players and should be given more time to improve further. allowing them time will only leads to better things in the future for international cricket. congratulations again to both side and keep up the good work
Nigeria will be the champions of the Mugabe cup go Ghana
waiting for the part iii
wooooooooo haaaaaaaaaaaaa finally somebody took that record from old a** stupid bitch sayid anver
f**k u bitch a** hole f u anver
Simply fantastic match, Congrats goes to Coventry & Tamim. Zim & Ban both should improve their fielding part.. that was simply horrible. I would expect little more from BAN. High score really doesn’t mean better game. Quality that really does matter. Good luck.
me too man…. that anwar was a bitch…. a true a**hole
dang! worst commentator ever…!

No hatred on Saeed Anwar, but congrats to Coventry and Tamim Iqbal for playing so well. Btw yo Raymond Price, you should really chill the f**k out. I just wana see Aussie/South African batsmen beat the shit out of this bowler for good. BD players are just too nice, Raqibul should have told Price to f**k off for such a gesture showing him way back.
congrats to coventry for equaling anwars record. He put on a show for the zimbabwe fans hope he keeps up the good work anyway, I think Bangladesh is still the better team i mean zimbabwe put up their best total and still could not defend it.KEEP UP YOUR GOOD COVERAGE.BYE

Hi Admin. i am really impressed with the work. but a humble request please please please delete the hatered kind of comments. it doesn’t look good to have these kind of comments on such a good site.
take care.
Thanks. About the latter half of your comment:
After several attempts at handling comments and pondering retaining that option, the policy here is that as long as it doesn’t reference the country and get racist in its hatred, sticks to cricket or players, it should be allowed cos how does one differentiate between someone saying – 1. X played a poor shot 2. X is a useless player 3. X is a f***er who should be chucked out of the team. If 1 is allowed, shouldn’t 2 and 3 be allowed too. I mean, it makes it very very subjective right, to allow only 1 and not 2 and 3 – Admin
